My passion for photography originated early in my preteen years when I took my first photography class in sixth grade. Since then, I’ve pursued my interest by becoming the photographer of The Mariner Log, my school’s newspaper, entering and placing second in a local photography competition, seeking more advanced courses in photography and editing, and selling over thirty-five photos as greeting cards to raise school funding.
In my more recent years, I’ve continued to expand as the photographer and videographer of my high school’s Art Club and Historian of my local Leo Club, a volunteer organization associated with Lions Clubs International. As a videographer, I’ve been able to not only promote artistic expression and community involvement, but also place Top 20 out of over eighty contestants in the 2016 Film Festival. My interest in journalistic photography has led me to my school’s Photojournalism Program, and I was accepted into my first photography internship as an AUSD Digital Communications Intern in 2017. I continue to improve upon my abilities in my free time, taking photos of nature, people and events, daily life, and other subjects.
